#OneDay campaign by the International Catholic Migration Commission

On the occasion of World Refugee Day, the International Catholic Migration Commission (ICMC) has launched a campaign entitled #OneDay to share the dreams, hopes and ambitions of young refugees.

Laith, a young Syrian from Homs, remembers his life in the city before war broke out. He misses the beautiful gardens and the swimming pools where he could go spend the afternoons in peace, and he remembers a good friend from school, hoping to see her again.

Young Fatimah lives in Jordan with her family and longs for the day herself and her siblings will finally have a house again. She explains her daily routine and shows the places where she plays with her friends.

“The children featured in the videos are just a few very personal examples of thousands of children across the world who represent hope, the next generation, and a future of peace,” stated ICMC’s Secretary General Msgr. Robert J. Vitillo.

By highlighting the stories and hopes of young refugees, and letting them speak for themselves, ICMC wants to provide a little insight into the lives of forcibly displaced people and convey a message of positivity for their future.

More information about the campaign is available at this page and you can follow the #OneDay on Twitter.
